Technical Implementation & Operations Manager
As Technical Implementation & Operations Manager, you will lead the deployment, operation, and reliability of the physical infrastructure that generates aircraft operations data to power our PLANEPASS® & VNOMS products. This includes a distributed network of camera/video systems and aircraft tracking equipment deployed at airports. You will oversee both installation and ongoing system performance while managing a small technical team in the Aircraft Operations Data Department.
You will also oversee the processes, procedures, and quality controls that manage the data flow from both internal & external sources into our systems. You will work with other departments including Software Engineering, Client Services, PLANEPASS® and senior management to ensure consistent, accurate and timely delivery of data.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Deployment & Implementation

Plan, oversee and assist in the execution of “Hands On” installation of field hardware systems including server, networking and camera surveillance technology at airports

Coordinate logistics for installation, equipment preparation, and schedules

Ensure systems meet operational and performance standards

Ensure delivery consistency and quality by reinforcing implementation methodology, process documentation, and technical standards.

Support team members in troubleshooting technical issues related to data formatting, system logic, and configuration workflows.
System Reliability & Operations
-
Own uptime and performance of deployed systems
-
Lead troubleshooting across hardware, network, and configuration
-
Develop SOPs for maintenance and support
System Configuration & Data Capture
-
Configure how aircraft tracking data is captured and interpreted
-
Utilize internal software tools to manage system behavior
-
Improve data capture accuracy and performance
Team Leadership
-
Manage and develop technicians and analysts
-
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to align customer expectations and streamline delivery.

Assign and prioritize work
-
Build repeatable processes and accountability
-
Track and manage team utilization, delivery metrics, and project portfolio health to ensure successful outcomes across all implementations both initially and ongoing.
Required Qualifications:
-
5+ years in technical or field operations
-
Experience with hardware or distributed systems
-
Strong troubleshooting across hardware and networking
-
Experience diagnosing issues across hardware, network, and data output
-
Experience managing technical teams
-
Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with IoT or remote monitoring systems
-
Familiarity with networking (cellular, FTP, data transmission)

Experience supporting distributed field systems
-
Background in aviation, telecom, or infrastructure environments
