  • Exciting opportunity to lead 3 departments:
    • Our PlanePass Billing Service Department as they reliably deliver $20-million of annual revenue for our 20+ client airports. You will oversee this department initially, and then progressively take on the other 2 areas. Industry knowledge is not needed or preferred.

    • Our Field Systems Department as they fabricate, deploy, and maintain our custom high-tech sensors at airports around the country and, soon, around the world. No technical knowledge is needed.

    • Our Administrative Department (currently 1 person)


  • PlanePass Department: currently 4 people
    • You will start by learning all elements of the PlanePass Billing Service Team job, continue improving our processes, and inspire team members to consistently exceed standards for quality customer care and productivity.

    • This dedicated team is Vector’s face to the aviation community and it’s critical to keep customer service standards high and to maintain our current high collection rate.

    • The PlanePass team uses our highly automated billing system to deliver 6,000+ invoices monthly; provides live follow-up service to aircraft operators; and collects $1.6+m monthly.

    • Managing this team requires some financial or accounting background, understanding of accounting principles, accounts receivable management, financial reporting, and managing business banking.

  • Field Systems Department: currently 2 full-time people, 1 part-time plus 4 part-time work-from-home researchers
    • Manage this team doing some of the coolest work we do: fabricating, shipping, installing, and maintaining our custom aircraft ID sensors at airports in some pretty great places around the US including Aspen, Santa Monica, Tahoe, Santa Barbara, the Hamptons, and Naples, FL.

    • This mission is a great way to grow your logistical and project management skills and to occasionally join the team in the field and show them how a great leader is willing to understand, support and share in all aspects of their team’s work. At Vector, many of us participate in airfield technical work to mix things up and to build bonds among team members. It is exhilarating and always fulfilling.

  • Administrative Department: currently 1 full-time person
    • Currently managed by our President, our Office Manager runs about 15 varied administrative areas including liability insurance, health insurance, HR, benefits, bookkeeping, facilities, and others.

    • Providing oversight here would allow you to broaden your skillset at running many aspects of a company, and free up time for our President to focus on growing the business.


  • LEADERSHIP – You are a proven leader and have directly led and managed people for at least the last 5 years. You will benefit from our exciting leadership development plan, but you MUST have demonstrated leadership success to be considered for the position. You model service orientation for the team.

  • FINANCE and ACCOUNTING experience is required to understand the systems and processes and to help suggest improvements.

  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT experience will help you break down problems to identify improvements and is necessary to make sure your Field Systems team is engaged and brings home a win every time.

  • EXCELLENT WRITTEN and VERBAL COMMUNICATION is key since you will be leading a team who communicates with people all day, every day.  You will also communicate directly with our client airports.

  • You’re well-versed in MS Excel

  • You can think and act outside the box to develop strategies which will measurably improve our customer support quality and collections performance

  • You have an analytical and data-driven approach to solving business problems

  • You are professionally nimble - able to prioritize and complete diverse tasks, gracefully navigating the changing needs of management and your team

  • You are people-oriented, with an engaging and positive demeanor

  • You have a bachelor’s degree from a US-based college or university

  • You have no record of bankruptcies or other financial difficulties

  • You understand and accept that this position requires you to be onsite at our Herndon, VA offices.
